INTRODUCTION:
Hydropower is a renewable source of energy that uses the natural flow of water to produce electricity. The electricity produced by the hydropower is distributed to different areas as per the load demand. hydropower is the best alternative to nonrenewable sources of energy.
LOCATION SUITABLE FOR THE HYDROPOWER :
The steep slope of rivers and the abundant of water flow in
rural areas are as potential locations of hydroelectric power plant site . IN
CONTEXT OF NEPAL the hydropowers are generally constructed or planted to the
hilly region where the dams can be constructed and the heavy storage of the
water can be done.

PRODUCTION OF THE ELECRTICITY FROM THE HYDROPOWER:
For the production of
the electricity from the hydropower first the water is collected in the dam which
is constructed at the high level from the ground. When the water is stored in
the dam the water is made to fall into the turbine where the potential energy
is converted to the kinetic energy and this high speed of the water or the
kinetic energy is used to rotate the turbine and the hydrogenator or the
alternator connected to the turbine will ultimately converts the kinetic energy
into the mechanical energy which results in the production of the electricity ,
Now the produced from the hydropower is
transmitted to the different area by using the different methods etc the figure
below also explains the production of
the electricity from the hydropower:
Advantages of the hydropower:
1)
This plant is neat and clean and no smoke or as
disposal is required.
2)
It is the cheapest operating and maintenance
cost as compared to the other power plants because water is freely available in
the world.
3)
It can start hydroelectric power with
fluctuating load demand.
4)
This plant also serves to help in irrigation and
Flood control etc.
5)
Since these plants are located in remote areas land is available and competitively cheaper rates.
6) It is very reliable, robust, and has a longer life app rocks 45 to 60 years.
Disadvantages of the hydropower:
1)
Such plant requires a large area
2) When experience skilled engineers are required
to build this plant
3) It doesn't supply constant hydroelectricity due
to the availability of water. In transition, the power supply is most affected.
4) High construction cost is required due to the construction of a dam.
